Lake Averill

Nearly two weeks ago, Brantley, Ace, and I packed up the car on a Thursday afternoon and began our journey to NY.  After 12 long hours, we made it Friday morning around 5 a.m.  We slept for a couple of hours and then joined the rest of the family on the next leg of the trip-Tuckahoe, NY to Averill, VT. We arrived that evening and settled in for the week ahead.

Ace immediately fell in love with the new scenery.  I think he loved everything about our vacation-a new dog friend, plenty of people to play with, taking a dip in the lake, walks among the tall trees, new smells, the freedom of being unleashed and the ability to run around in a massive yard.  He was in heaven, and it was obvious!  We made it back to Charlotte on Saturday evening, and he's been laying around and napping for the past 3 days.  He wore himself out!

During our week visit, we:
-played a lot of board/card games,
-explored the local towns,
-read,
-constructed a 1,000-piece puzzle,
-had lunch and window-shopped in Canada,
-hiked Mt. Averill,
-kayaked,
-roasted marshmallows and made s'mores
-went moose scouting,
-and stuffed our bellies each and every day!

Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the Byrd/Binney family and had such a relaxing visit.  We look forward to visiting again!
