deliciousness

As we were walking in Uptown a few weeks ago, we noticed a new Italian restaurant. We made a mental note to try it sometime. So last night we decided to do just that! We made reservations for a late dinner, got ready, and hopped on the city bus to Aria. I didn't want to eat a full dinner that late so I opted for an appetizer as my meal. Everything sounded amazing, which made my decision difficult. I had planned to ask our waitress about two things on the menu-the gnocchi and then the tuna. As soon as I asked about the gnocchi she said that it was the best thing on the menu and had been voted the best appetizer in Charlotte according to a local restaurant magazine. "Say no more," I told her! "I'm sold!" We enjoyed some bread, bruschetta, and wine before our dinners came. Yum, yum! Then....the gnocchi. Oh my goodness!!! This stuff was incredible! It was topped with caramelized onions, prosciutto, and a white cream sauce. I tried to eat it slowly and savor every bit, but that was hard. I wanted to scarf it all down. Needless to say, I highly recommend this restaurant to my fellow Charlotte friends. The food was absolutely delicious!

After that, we met up with some friends to celebrate a 30th birthday before catching a cab back to NoDa. As you may know, we're also huge fans of Amelie's just down the street. They're open 24 hours, and we've heard they're a busy, bustling place in the middle of the night. So being that we both have a sweet tooth (or two or three) we decided to stop in and see for ourselves. Yep...the place was full of night owls at 2:30 a.m. We enjoyed more delicious food before finally heading home at about 3:00, and we're not night owls so we'll probably be spending most of the day napping on the couch. :)

Happy Sunday!
