Saturday afternoon, Tyler (another Summer Welcome Leader) drove from D.C. for a short visit with us. We showed our Tiger spirit at a local venue who graciously aired the Missouri vs. Illinois game. (It was a Tiger victory! Woo hoo!). Later that evening, we sat around, reminisced, and played a game that had all four of us rolling on the ground with laughter.
Sunday morning Chef Brantley whipped up some delicious pancakes. Mmmm! So good! Soon thereafter, we watched Revue (our Summer Welcome skit) and then said goodbye to Tyler. Kari and I then got dressed and headed to Noda for a fantastic lunch at the Crepe Cellar. That evening was spent watching The Time Traveler's Wife in the Epicentre Theater (so neat!), followed by dinner at Mama Ricotta's, which I recommend if you're a fan of Italian cuisine. We ended the night with two intense games of Scrabble. A victory for each of us girls. Sorry Brantley! Monday morning, we took Kari to the aiport. I hated to see her go, but I was so thankful that she came to visit!
It felt so good to laugh and enjoy time with old, loyal friends. It was truly the best medicine after a long, stressful week!
