We're back!

After my math training course, Brantley and I left rainy weather in the Queen City in hopes of brilliant sunshine at Ponte Vedra beach. Unfortunately, the rain followed us for at 5 hours out of 6 1/2-hour trip. We arrived late Wednesday night and made our round of hugs with his family. We were awakened Thursday morning by a gorgeous sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed a few hours of sunbathing before the clouds hovered above us. That evening we had a wonderful dinner including steak with peppers and onions, potatoes, broccoli, bread, and watermelon salad. So good! And a nice change of pace for Brantley and me. Friday morning we were back out on the beach for a bit before we took a nice, long walk to see the latest grotesque sight-a dead shark. It was one of those things that are really gross but you can't help but stare at it forever (and take pictures of it, too). Soon after our 2-mile journey, the rain decided to visit again, and this time it stayed for the day. So we ventured out to a local fish joint and enjoyed a late lunch together under an outdoor canopy. The rest of the day entailed various card games, Scrabble, and magic tricks with a deck of cards. We packed up Saturday morning and said our goodbyes, and of course, we were couldn't dodge the rain on the way home, either. Thankfully, we made it home safely, and we can't wait for the next trip!
