Myrtle Beach

On Wednesday, Amber and I headed out on a 4-hour journey to Myrtle Beach to meet up with her family for a mini-vacation. We checked in to the hotel, changed into our suits, and then made our way down to the beach. We enjoyed sunbathing for as long as we could stand the heat, then slowly entered the water, letting it inch its way up to our bellies. Once we were accustomed to it, Amber and I played in the waves like young, energetic children. We jumped up over some, let others knock us down, and swam under a few, too. After all of that excitement in the ocean, we were worn out and took a short nap on the beach. But we were rudely awakened by the sudden rush of the tide, and at that point, we decided to call it a day and went back up to the room. Olive Garden was on the dinner menu that evening with Amber's family.

Thursday was basically a repeat of events, except that it was spent at the pool instead of the beach. We went shopping for a bit before dinner, where we found cute swimsuits, but it's a kind of a downer when you have to have an x-small top and medium-sized bottoms. So needless to say, we walked out empty-handed. But we really can't complain, since we went to Margaritaville and stuffed ourselves silly with drinks and volcano nachos. Eat today, diet tomorrow, right?

We headed back early Friday morning (after a 3-hour nap) to ensure our seats on the boat. It was a nice, relaxing 2-day vacation to break up the monotony of our everyday lives. Next time, you'll have to join us :)
