road trip q & a

We had a bit of a long journey on our trip to Nashville and needed something to fill the time.  A few weeks ago, I found on pinterest a list of 110 questions for couples.  So I printed them out and brought them along.  We've done this once before on a previous road trip.  At that time, we answered each question for ourselves.  This time, we were able to answer for each other, which I think is a good sign that we've gotten to know each other fairly well.  

We answered the first 66 on the way there and the remaining 44 on the trip home, and then I added a few of my own since we weren't quite back to Charlotte.  Here are a few of the questions and each of our responses.

Q:  What is your favorite Olympic event?   

B:  the 400m sprint

H:  the floor or bar event in women's gymnastics

Q:  What was your favorite subject in elementary school?

B:  science

H:  math

Q:  If you could reincarnate into any animal after you die, what would you want to be?

B:  a duck because they can fly, swim, and walk on land

H:  a dolphin because they're intelligent, kind, and either near or at the top of the food chain

Q:  What is your favorite candy bar?

B:  Snickers

H:  3 Musketeers

Q:  What is your favorite type/genre of food?
B:  Italian

H:  all breakfast-type foods

Q:  Would you want to live in the city, country, or beach?

B:  city

H:  city

Q:  What is your favorite type of cake?

B:  spice

H:  angel food

Q:  Who is your celebrity man crush?

B:  Ryan Reynolds, Justin Timberlake

H:  Josh Duhamel, Bradley Cooper, Liam Hemsworth

Q:  What music artist do you listen to that your other half hates?

B:  any hard rock

H:  Sugarland

Q:  What is the greatest place you've ever traveled to?

B:  NYC

H:  NYC, Cozumel is a close second

Q:  If you got a life supply subscription to any magazine, what magazine would you choose?

B:  Popular Mechanics

H:  Women's Health

Q:  If you had the money to buy your significant other any one thing right now, what would you buy them?

B:  a house

H:  a new car

I think the purpose of these questions is not just to get an answer, but to extend the topics into stories and conversations to help learn more about one another.  They certainly served their purpose-we chatted to help pass the time, we learned a few new things about one another, and most importantly, they kept both of us awake!
