Nashville

Last weekend, Brantley, Ace, and I met my parents and their dog, Hank, and my brother, Zach for a weekend getaway.  We met in Nashville, which is the midpoint between Charlotte and St. Louis.  We arrived Friday afternoon at the Hutton Hotel.  Here are some of the highlights.

On Saturday, we browsed a few local shops, and then visited the Fontanel mansion and had lunch at the cafe on the grounds.

That night, we went to Conway's Bar and Grill.  This place had a little bit of everything for everyone-a bar and live band, a bowling alley, an arcade, pool tables, etc.  My mom knew the drummer, and some of my dad's friends live near the area so they joined us.  They invited to have Easter dinner on Sunday, and we took them up on that offer.  That night, we walked around the downtown area, where bars lined the streets with live music.  We ended our evening with some home-made ice cream from a local shop.

On Monday morning, we packed up and ended our stay with breakfast at the Pancake Pantry.

We saw this line on Sunday morning and opted not to wait in it.  We came back the next morning.
There was still a wait , but it wasn't too bad.

I think it's safe to say that all of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would visit again.  Hopefully, the weather will be better next time.  It was rainy and gloomy the whole weekend.  But, as luck would have it, the shine was shining Monday morning when we were ready to leave.  At least we had a pleasant drive back home.  :)
