At the start of the new year, after the holiday chaos had ended, our lives had gotten back to normal and our calendar seemed to clear out a bit. This left us with some time for date nights, so I created a date night jar. Since we are both so indecisive, pre-written date ideas work out well for us. I found many creative versions on pinterest, but I didn't want to spend a lot of time and effort into this project. I gathered a few simple materials, and Brantley helped me brainstorm some ideas.
On Friday evenings, one of us will draw a date night out of the jar, and we'll have our date on Saturday. If we already have a date planned, a birthday dinner for example, then we won't draw one out of the jar. It has worked out well so far!
Some versions of a date night jar had color-coded dates according to price. Some of them included weekend getaways and what not. Because we're on a budget, ours includes only inexpensive dates. Although a weekend vacation would be nice, it's the quality time together that matters the most anyway.
