resolutions for 2013

On our long journey back to Charlotte last week, Brantley and I had discussed a few resolutions that we'd like to make for the upcoming year.  A few days ago we revisited the topic, and I made a list for each of us in my Kindle.  Like many other people, we make resolutions and don't stick to them, or we simply don't make them at all.  Well, I'd like this year to be different.  With that, here are our goals/wishes/resolutions for 2013.

Brantley
  • find a general contracting apprenticeship
  • crush #2 gripper (a piece of equipment that helps to build grip strength which, in turn, helps with various exercises)
  • do a one-armed pull up
  • read at least 6 books
  • "keep my cool" in the car
Mine
  • organize underneath our sinks
  • decorate our bedroom
  • purchase a new camera
  • take a photography class
  • read at least 10 books
  • adopt a family/donate to a charity during the holidays
  • attend cross-fit classes
We kept our lists to a minimum so each goal could be realistically attained.  Sure, there are many others things we want to accomplish, but these are things we could write down with hesitation, knowing we could check off each one by the end of the year. In fact, I've already read 3 books during our winter break, but I'm only counting one of them toward my 10.  I started it on 12/30 and finished on 1/1/13 so I think it counts!  I also bought a Groupon for cross-fit classes so I'll start probably next week.

Oh...and we have one more wish for this year, perhaps the most important.  We're hoping to conceive a little Byrd within the next 364 days!  :)  I have a feeling that it's going to be a great year!
