The Dog Bar

Brantley and I have had Ace for over a year now, but until last night, we had never taken him to The Dog Bar.  He doesn't get many opportunities to socialize with other four-legged animals, and I thought this would be a great chance for him to do so.  When we first arrived, there were about five other dogs crowding around to sniff him out.  His immediate response was to retreat.  He seemed so overwhelmed.  He warmed up a little bit as the night went on, but I don't think he ever got truly comfortable with the idea of being around so many dogs, especially ones that were four or five times his size.  He seemed very timid and wanted to be around us or other people or hide underneath benches or chairs.  I was a little disappointed that he didn't seem to have as much fun as I had hoped for, but I think he'll more comfortable the more often we go.  He was on high alert and burning lots of energy so needless to say, he's completely exhausted today.
