hiking in DuPont State Forest

A few weeks ago, Brantley's mom came to visit us.  During her stay, we enjoyed a nice dinner in Uptown, a little shopping and a movie in Birkdale, and we ended each evening with some scrumptious ice cream.

Before she came, Trish planned a hiking trip to DuPont State Forest.  So we set off that Saturday morning for the booming town of Hendersonville, NC.  :)  That day, we walked several hiking trails, which provided some breathtaking scenery.  That evening, we cleaned up in our hotel room and went out to dinner in the quaint little town.  We were quite impressed by it's character and decided that it seemed like a smaller version of Asheville.

We're looking forward to our next hiking adventure.  Hopefully, we'll get go again this fall when the leaves are changing and the air is just a little crisp.  :)
