cucumber with a leg

On Sunday, I chatted with my mom and Ava via Skype. Ava made it very clear that she wasn't in the mood to talk so my mom and I were thinking creatively on how we could get her to change her mind. In the midst of our conversation, Ava said, "Nanna, I'm hungry. My belly said, "Mommy, I need to eat dinner."" My mom and I got a chuckle out of that. Then I asked her what her belly wanted to eat and she said a cheese stick. I told her that I had one, and she seemed interested. She climbed up on my mom's lap and grabbed the imaginary cheese stick through the computer and gnawed away on it. That, too, gave us a chuckle. A little while later, Zachary came into the room with some edamame that he had just fixed. Ava took one and ate it. "What did you eat, Ava?" my mom asked. "Umm...umm...it's a green bean," she replied. "Well, actually it looks like a cucumber with a leg, and it talked to me. And I laughed when it did that." A third chuckle for my mom and me. That girl has quite the imagination!

Alli took this photo, and I love it!
