new friends

I have so much to share about our cruise. I'm not sure where to begin, so I'll just start from the top. We boarded the ship on Monday afternoon and headed out to the pool. Brantley said, "So are we going to try to meet new people on this trip?" Before I could respond, he predicted, "Knowing us, probably not." Neither one of us is outgoing enough to walk up to someone and introduce ourselves, and we're not the greatest at small talk either.

Luckily, we were assigned to a dinner table with two incredible couples that we met that evening. Luke and Kari are from Indiana, and Matt and Nikki are from Wisconsin. Luke, Kari, and Nikki went to Purdue together. Fortunately, we were all about the same age and had a lot in common. Kari and Nikki are teachers so we had a few stories to share, though we tried not to talk about work too much. Brantley fit right in with the fun-loving jokesters, Luke and Matt. They invited us to hang out with them after dinner that night. In fact, we all had so much fun together that we hung out every night of the cruise. We even met up with Luke and Kari in Cozumel.

Brantley and I thought we really lucked out, because they were so much fun and provided us with a lot of entertainment! We hope to keep in touch with all of them!
