inspired

A few years ago when I was in college, my friend watched The Biggest Loser and always talked about how inspirational it was, but I never really got into it. Well since I've become a huge fan of Jillian Michaels (she's one of the trainers on the show), I've started to watch the end of the current season. I record it on DVR and watch it when I get a chance. As usual, I was awake before the birds last Saturday and thought it would get me motivated before my visit to the gym.

There was a surprise at the end of the episode for the remaining four contestants. Their last challenge before the finale was to complete a marathon. On a dreary, drizzly morning, all of them set out on their journey...and hours later every one of them finished! One of them ran the entire time and completed 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 2 minutes. Holy guacamole! That's quite a feat! I was so impressed...and inspired...and amazed. It kind of made me want to run again. I don't know about a full marathon, but I'd consider another half.

Oh, I just love that show! I think it's good for so many reasons, but I think the biggest message is that anyone can reach their goals if they have the will and determination to do so. The contestants never cease to amaze me with everything that they accomplish in such a short amount of time. In my opinion, it's definitely worth a watch, but I'm warning you-you may get hooked!
