While we were out shopping, Brantley and I were caught in the midst of our first big snowfall of the year. It kept coming overnight, and Saturday morning we awoke to a decent amount of snow on the ground. We were supposed to have a busy day-gym, errands, cleaning, and preparing food for our friends who were coming over to celebrate my upcoming birthday with me. As it turned out, the weather kept all of us from going anywhere. Instead, we read, watched movies, took a short walk down the street, and BB made my birthday cake. I think we're going to do the same today-watch movies, read, and relax. I love days like these!
We've tried to make this same cake several times, and it always ends up falling apart when we try to flip it over. We just can't seem to get it out of the cake pan without it crumbling, but Brantley figured out the trick this time and got it to work. Yay! It's so yummy-spice cake with cream cheese icing. Delicious!
