Yesterday we slept in and bummed around a little bit. Then we decided to have a picnic in the park. The weather was perfect-about 65 degrees and sunny. The trees were so colorful and leaves covered the ground. I'd be perfectly happy with 4 seasons of fall! We found a cozy spot on the ground at Freedom Park, spread out our blanket, and ate lunch in the sun. We walked around and watched the geese search for food beneath the surface of the pond, which was quite entertaining.
I decided we needed a sweet treat when we came home, so I baked a cake that had been sitting in our pantry for months. We learned two important things after that experience...1) we have a new found respect for cake bakers and decorators, and 2) we should not go into the cake baking/decorating business. In other words, it wasn't the prettiest thing in the world, but it sure tasted good!
After that, Brantley convinced me to watch Star Trek, and believe it or not, it wasn't too bad. Definitely better than I expected anyway.
And today we plan to be couch potatoes. That's what Sundays are made for, right?

Bottoms up!
